Adult Conservation Oriented Responsible Neighbors
ACORN is an adult program for those interested in conservation and environmental education topics. There are no membership fees and no commitments. We continually welcome new members ages 18 and over!
June 6-7, 2013 Dubuque/Galena – overnight stay
Itinerary includes a Maquoketa Caves program by the Jackson County Conservation Department, Crystal Lake Cave tour in Dubuque, exploration of Galena’s Main Street shops, Linmar Gardens, and an evening history/mystery tour in Galena. Participants will make their own hotel reservations at Stoney Creek Inn, Galena, phone 815-777-2223 and tell them you are part of the Henry County Conservation block. Hotel room: $77.00 based on double occupancy. Each additional person per room is $10. Breakfast included. Wear sturdy shoes, bring a jacket, and bring your lunch for a picnic at Maquoketa Caves State Park. Trip to depart from and return to Oakland Mills Nature Center, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Departure time: 7:00 a.m. on June 6th and return the following day around 6:00 p.m. Cost: $55.00 for all admissions and bus ride.
