Event Description:
The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance Government Affairs Committee invites Henry County residents to a forum with area lawmakers at noon, Thursday, December 19, in the upstairs meeting room of the Mount Pleasant Public Library and Civic Center.
Sen. Rich Taylor, D-Mount Pleasant, and Rep. Dave Heaton, R-Mount Pleasant, requested this special gathering to learn prior to the start of the 2014 legislative session what issues are most important to local residents. They will take the opportunity to share their expectations for the session and to explain key legislation that may emerge.
This is a brown bag event. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lunches. The Chamber Alliance will provide coffee, tea and water.
The Chamber Alliance plans four additional forums with lawmakers during the session. These sessions will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the International Room of Chadwick Library on the campus of Iowa Wesleyan College. The schedule is as follows:
