Henry County Farm Bureau Celebrates National Ag Week by hosting Supermarket Sweep Competition Ready. Set. Grab! Join the Henry County Farm Bureau as we host our 3rd Annual Supermarket Sweep Competition on Friday, March 21st, hosted at the Mount Pleasant Hy-Vee. We are encouraging local businesses to round up a team of 3 to shop until you drop...and then give it all away to The Fellowship Cup! The goal is to see which team can come closest to collecting $250 (either over or under) worth of groceries in just FIVE MINUTES. Teams are encouraged to decorate their carts, wear matching shirts, etc. THE ONLY COST TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SUPERMARKET SWEEP IS WHAT YOUR TEAM COLLECTS IN GROCERIES. We will be presenting the winning team with our shopping cart traveling trophy. Awards will also be given to the "Greatest Grabber" and "Best Decorated Cart." Once all heats are completed, teams may enjoy tea, lemonade, and cookies while winners are announced. National Agriculture Week, celebrated from March 16-22, highlights the vital role of the agriculture industry in our daily lives and economy. We honor the industry that provides food, fiber, renewable products, and stable jobs. Today, one farmer feeds 144 people, compared to just 25 people in the 1960s.
