In general, histories written over the years have discussed the contributions of men, but neglected women's participation.  Henry County is fortunate to have a number of women that have made major contributions, not only in the county, but on state and national levels as well.  Amoung those to be discussed are Carolyn Pendray, Belle Babb Mansfield, Annie Packer, Harriet Ketchman, and Martha McClure.
