Event Description:
In celebration of Henry County receiving designation as a Home Base Iowa Community, we will be gathering on the Henry County Courthouse lawn on Wednesday, May 11 from 10:30-11:30 am.
Home Base Iowa Designation Ceremony Agenda:
Becoming a Home Base Iowa Community is a lot to be proud of. Over 10% of businesses planning to hire (22 Henry County Businesses) signed the pledge to hire at least one veteran by 2018 and we plan to recognize these businesses on May 11. The Henry County Board of Supervisors signed a resolution of support of this initiative and will be present at the event. We have put together an incentive package to draw veterans into our community (visit mountpleasantiowa.org for details). Home Base Iowa signage will soon be on display at all of our county borders on Highways 218, 78 and 34 so commuters can see our commitment to hiring veterans in Henry County.
