11:30 a.m. Midwest Old Threshers Reunion, Opening Ceremonies, 405 East Threshers Road
Celebrate America's industrial and agricultural histories
1:15 p.m. 1861 Union Block Building Renovation, Ribbon Cutting Celebration, 111 West Monroe Street
Within the historic walls of the Union Block, Arabella "Belle" Babb Mansfield read the law and passed the examination to become the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States. Frederick Douglass, Sojourner Truth, Anna Dickinson, Senator James Harlan and other notables presented lectures in the Union Hall, as well!
2:00 p.m. Iowa Wesleyan College campus lawn, James Harlan Statue Unveiling Ceremony, 601 North Main Street
Twice president of Iowa Wesleyan University, James Harlan was a U.S. Senator and Secretary of the Interior. His statue has resided in the Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol since 1910. Join us as we welcome James Harlan back home.
