Event Description:
Southeast Iowa Band's concerts are normally given in Iowa Wesleyan's Chapel Auditorium in Mt. The band's concerts always feature a varied program that appeal to all ages. We hope to see you there! The Southeast Iowa Band is a college-community band of about 50 performers from Burlington, Ottumwa, Iowa City, Ft. Madison, Keokuk, Washington, Mt Pleasant and alumni, students and faculty from Iowa Wesleyan College. The band is under the direction of Robert McConell. Bobby Wilson, the late arts columnist for the Burlington Hawk Eye, once referred to the Southeast Iowa Band as "Southeast Iowa's best kept secret." A college/community ensemble, the band is made up of the area's best wind and percussionists and rehearses on Sunday evenings at Iowa Wesleyan College under the baton of Bob McConnell - the same Bob McConnell who conducts the Southeast Iowa Symphony. The Southeast Iowa Band is presented by the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center and sponsored by Dr. Robert Tree, Robert Glocke and Dr. Gary Roth.
