Mount Pleasant Electric Contractors, Inc. was started in April of 1963. Brothers Richard (Dick) and Rodney (Butch) Wittich and brother-in-law Bob Shaw purchased Sanders Electric. Todd Mabeus and Douglas Holtkamp joined Dick and Butch Wittich as co-owners in 1989 and 1996 respectively and are the current owners. As the largest electrical contractor in Mount Pleasant, these owners are pleased to be involved with many community projects.
Accepting a limited number of out-of-town jobs allows Mount Pleasant Electric to concentrate on their faithful, local customers. Many of the factories in Mount Pleasant depend on the expertise of Mount Pleasant Electric electricians to trouble-shoot their electrical problems. New factories, new additions to current buildings, relocation of factory lines, and renovations involved with the growing process are all things that Mount Pleasant Electric is involved in when working in the industrial aspect of their business.
Commercial, residential and agricultural applications are also important to them. As the Mount Pleasant area flourishes, new businesses and homes are built and Mount Pleasant Electric is pleased to work with many of the local general contractors on these projects, which promote the growth of the community.
Even though they are involved with many large projects, they always make time for the smaller repair jobs on the farm or in the home. Farms and homes have grown from simple family operations to high-tech efficiently operated entities.
